Back in November, 10,000 wreaths were placed at every grave at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen by volunteers.

This wonderful act is thanks to the Wreaths for Vets charity. The organization also asked for volunteers to help gather the thousands of wreaths after the holiday season. Hundreds showed up to do just that Sunday afternoon.

Our news partners KWTX shared the following quote from Cyd West, Treasurer of Wreaths for Vets:

“I think it's very important to the families of the fallen soldiers, It helps them to realize that people respect and honor their service and sacrifice. And it's just important to the community. It goes to show you how very long we needed a veterans cemetery by the honor it receives.”

It's a simple act that is very much appreciated by the families of veterans.

Wreaths for Vets isn't possible without your help. Everything they're able to do to honor our veterans is thanks to charitable donations and volunteerism.

Many of the wreaths were damaged in the severe weather over the weekend, so your donations are needed as much as ever.

If you would like to donate, you can do that here.
