Fox has begun slot-calling their summer schedule for the next two years, which makes them conservative compared to Marvel and Sony. 'Independence Day 2' has officially been dated for July 3, 2015, among other changes and updates to their schedule.

The big news is that 'ID4 2' (which has also been called 'ID Forever Part 1') is now full steam ahead for 2015, and would then open a week before 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5.' It's also supposedly the start of a two-film saga.

The other big news is that 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' have switched dates. 'Future Past' will grace screens for Memorial Day weekend on May 23, 2014, while 'Apes' is now set for July 18, 2014.This seems smart as 'X-Men' movies have fared well in May, while 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' opened well and played long when it hit screens in August 2011.

Fox has also updated their other summer 2015 titles. 'Assassin's Creed,' which will star Michael Fassbender, moved from 2015's Memorial Day weekend to June 19, while 'Peregrine’s Home for Peculiars' is now scheduled for July 31, 2015. The film is an adaptation of the children's book ' Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiars,' which has no cast attached, though last word was that Tim Burton was planning to direct it.
