You already know that we're a football crazy state, which makes this news pretty exciting! The Champions Indoor Football League announced that they are awarding Central Texas/Fort Hood its own professional franchise called The Centex Fighting Calvary and they are set to play in The Bell County Expo Center starting in 2017.

The CIF consists of 12 teams and is split into Northern & Southern divisions. The Calvary will be joining the southern division and face teams like Texas (Allen, TX), Amarillo, Dodge City, Duke City (Albuquerque, NM), San Angelo and Mesquite. This is going to make for some great in-state rivalries for their first season!

Games will be broadcast on the EverSport Sports Network and the team looks to kick off their inaugural season in 2017 with your support! For more information visit their Facebook page and be on the look out for kickoff next year! Swords Up!
