Tattoo Regret in America: We Texans Made It in the Top 10 Rank
Do You Have Any Tattoo Regrets?
While I don't have any ink, I know that some live with 'tattoo regret'. Like my dad did he got his when he was a teen and kept them hidden because of what they represented. Do you know which states have the most regret when it comes to permanent ink? While Texas is not number one on the list of tattoo regrets in America, we did make the top 10.
The History of Tattoos
Tattoos date back over a thousand years. Today, according to the Federal Food and Drug Administration, about 30% of all Americans have at least one tattoo. Unlike most style and fashion trends, tattoos are permanent—unless, of course, you choose to have them lasered away, which is reputedly both expensive and painful.
Not Everyone Loves Their Ink
While many Americans wear their artwork proudly, not everyone loves their tats. For the record, I’m not a tattoo fan. Don’t have one, don’t want one. As a child, I drew on myself with Sharpie pens for years, until my parents saw my work and punished me. End of story—for now.
Tattoo Shops in Abilene Are Thriving
As I watch Abilene grow, I see tattoo shops popping up as some of the fastest-growing businesses. I believe all eight of my children have some ink. They’re grown, and it’s their bodies. However, a couple of them have artwork they regret, mostly ink that notes former relationships.
Tattoo Regret is Common
In a recent study, tattooed Americans were surveyed across the country. They answered a variety of questions, ranging from how many tattoos they regretted to how much money they’ve spent on their permanent artwork. For more information on the tattoo topic, get more info from Laser Away right here.
