As with many of you, I was born and raised in Texas. I wouldn't have it any other way. Although my job has taken me to other states, I moved back as quickly as I could. There's just no other place that quite has the swagger and feels that Texas does. There are a bunch of reasons to stay put right here in the Lone Star State. The lifestyle does it for me. Wide-open spaces with plenty to see and explore. The people are down-home, delicious food and so much more.

However, the state is not for everybody. Folks move in and out of Texas every day. I can certainly see the draw but I was curious to find out the major reason for leaving Texas. It turns out that I found more than one. United Van Lines does a study every year on the inbound and outbound moves. They also kept track of why people were moving in 2022. Read ahead as we take a look at the top 5 reasons according to United Van Lines.

Indeed, employment is huge and takes the number one reason folks move from Texas.

Is the top reason what you thought it was? Health was the only remaining category with 4.49% of people claiming it was the reason for their move. Overall Texas remained a neutral state with comparable inbound and outbound moves. Other states had more of a drastic difference. How Can I Make Moving Easier? Here are 10 Ways

I recently helped relocate my girlfriend from a 3-story, 4-bedroom, finished-basement home to a 2-bedroom, 1-butt kitchen apartment. It. Was. Not. Fun.

This is not the first time that we have moved her and it won’t be the last. The good thing about the moves so far is this: we are getting better at it.
