Texans Out-Tip Californians In Surprising Survey

I never thought we would be more generous to our servers than people in California. I guess Texans do have a big heart.

I always tip well, but that is because I go to places that are pretty inexpensive to start with. When the bill starts creeping over $100, the tipping might not be quite as extravagant.

New Survey Continues To Prove That Texans Tip Better

According to Axios, Americans' best tippers are up north. Delaware, West Virginia, and New Hampshire are leaving over 20% tips on average.

In Texas, diners left average tips of 18.7%. We tip slightly better than surrounding states, Louisiana and Arkansas, but not as well as the 19%+ in New Mexico or Oklahoma.

The data is kind of fuzzy, as they base the data on restaurants using Toast, so cash tips aren't included in the math.
