See The Raw Power, Apocalyptic Aftermath of Yesterday’s Massive Wildfire in Texas
AMARILLO, TEXAS - Yesterday's historic wildfire outbreak ravaged through the Texas Panhandle at a fast and furious pace that has left many residents deeply unsettled.
The high winds and unseasonable weather were the ideal conditions for an outbreak to take place. The Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Viewer service showed the following fires as active as of 7:15 am 2/28:
- Windy Deuce (Moore County)
- Magenta (Oldham County)
- Grape Vine Creek (Gray County)
- 687 Reamer (Hutchinson County)
- Smokehouse (Hutchinson County)
The Smokehouse wildfire is said to be one of the largest in United States history, burning up over 200,000 acres. While first responders are still working to contain the fires and relief efforts are underway, the final figures for livestock, homes, and land lost won't be immediately available.
However, it's crucial to truly understand the absolute raw power and annihilation that come with a massive wildfire like yesterday's.
Wide Angle View of Destruction
The wall of smoke is simply astounding. Behind that wall sits a raging fire completely out of control. It almost looks like the clouds have dropped out of the sky and just softly landed on the ground.
Driving Through The Fire
As you watch the car just driving right through the flames, you see how it nearly turns into daylight as they get closer to the smoldering embers. It's an apocalyptic scene of annihilation.
Aerial View Of The Flames
This has to be one of the most eerie videos of the fire yet. A commercial airliner right above the Smokehouse Creek Fire shows us the glow of the pockets where the fire is. Seeing the lines where the fire is raging is chilling.
