As the Summer begins to start here in Texas, Texans are getting excited.  Barbecues will be a must, enjoying the lakes with friends and family will be on the agenda, and most importantly, protecting ourselves, from the most annoying creature on earth. Every year Texans just want to be outside and enjoy the great weather, especially after enduring the harsh winter.

It is so hard to truly enjoy the summer heat waves in Texas because of this heinous creature. I’ve been told by people who are not from Texas, maybe when referring to this annoying creature to just ignore it. The reality of it is, there is no getting away from it. As a matter of fact, according to a – Z animals, this creature is considered the number one most dangerous pest, not only here in Texas, but in the world. By now, if you’re not exactly sure what I am referring to let me give you a hint, this creature is a bloodsucking nuisance that is estimated to cause between 750,000 and 1 million human deaths per year.

Do you give up, it is the mosquito. I know what you’re probably thinking to yourself, how could something so small cause so much damage? The mosquito is a host for many diseases that are deadly to mankind, including West Nile, Malaria, Dengue Fever, and Ziker viruses. The disease Malaria accounted for over a half 1 million infections each year alone. Just like any other Texan, I find myself trying to smack away these little nuisances when I’m outside trying to enjoy my summer. Texas remember, these little guys are small, but they are deadly.
