Why A Gas Station Is Suddenly The Hottest Pizza Spot In Central Texas

I love finding great food in Texas. Sometimes I go out and explore the area to see what it has to offer, and other times I get recommendations for certain spots. Now, even though I’m a big fan of mom-and-pop shops over restaurant chains because I believe small businesses deserve a chance, and they cook with a lot of love, you can really taste that Central Texas seems to be saying that this Midwestern chain is serving some of the best pizza around.

What Are Locals Saying About Casey's?

I love a good mom-and-pop shop and trying new things, but when I heard that Casey’s gas station was the spot to grab breakfast pizza or regular pizza, I was truly intrigued. It even seems like Buc-ee’s might have a run for its money. When I asked locals how they felt about the convenience store, I honestly couldn’t believe my ears. In my opinion, Buc-ee’s is a staple right up there with Whataburger or H-E-B, so it almost felt like betrayal.

Then it was explained to me that you can order made-from-scratch pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, and so much more at Casey’s. Not only that, but you can get delivery or pickup. After digging a little deeper, I realized this wasn’t like the CEFCO it replaced in the area; this was something different.

Is There A New Sheriff In Town?

I checked out the menu, and while they don’t have barbecue like Buc-ee’s, that doesn’t stop them from bringing the heat when it comes to selection. So now the question is: should someone tell the beaver to move over because there’s a new sheriff in town, or is this all just hype?
