Wright shared, “I was driving past a billboard on West Adams, and it just came to me. I wanted more visibility so those who don’t know him can look up and learn what he stood for.”Wright added that she had known Kirk for the past six or seven years and described his death as a devastating loss. She initially rented the billboard for 24 hours at a cost of approximately $175, but said they were generously gifted an additional three days.
The billboard’s final day on display will be Thursday, which coincides with the candlelight vigil in downtown Belton being held to honor Charlie Kirk. It’s clear that many Texans are deeply affected by the loss of this public figure, and Linda Wright is redefining the phrase “Gone but not forgotten” through her public tribute.
