If you are about that fishing life, Nolan Creek in Belton, Texas is where you want to be this weekend. It's their annual Family, Fishin' & Fun event - a day of fun and free fishing for the whole family.

THE DEETS

WHEN: Next Friday, Dec. 16, and then Thursday, Dec. 29th

WHERE: Nolan Creek in Belton between Main Street and the I-35 Frontage Road

TIME: 2pm - 4pm

THE BAIT

I have a confession: I've never been fishing, so this may just be the experience for us non-fishers to get our feet wet (not trying to get wet, lol).

Two cool things about this event is, one, you don't even need a fishing license in order to attend or participate in this event. Two, you don't need experience (phew). Just bring your friends, your family and your poles to see if you can catch a bite.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

This is a free fishing event. All of the trout is being provided by Texas Parks and Wildlife as part of their winter creek trout stocking initiative. They use rainbow trout from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Rainbow Trout Program.

The bait is being provided by Belton Parks and Rec while supplies last. Lastly, for kids up to 12 years old, they can enter for a chance to win the "Longest Rainbow Trout Contest." Now this actually sounds like fun.
