H-E-B to Distribute Over 275,000 Reusable Bags for Earth Day
I’ve said it for years, ever since I’ve lived in Texas, nobody does Earth Day like the good people at H-E-B. According to KCENT, H-E-B is celebrating Earth Day by giving away over a quarter million free reusable bags across Texas as part of its annual Earth Day celebration. It kicked off today at 8 AM, and customers can visit H-E-B, Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop, and Mi Tienda locations to grab one while supplies last, so you’ll want to get there as soon as possible.

HEB Is Keeping The Tradition Going
This tradition has been going on for nearly 20 years. I remember when it first started back in 2008, when more than 3 million bags were distributed by H-E-B. It really is a magical store. Texans often call it “the magic store,” and honestly, who else is doing something like this today with the same level of generosity as H-E-B?
H-E-B also highlighted its annual school plastic bag recycling challenge, where more than 800 schools across Texas have collected over 8.4 million plastic bags this year, even breaking last year’s record. I love H-E-B’s approach: if we’re going to save the Earth, we might as well do it in style.
