UPDATE: The Shooter Is Identified Following a Shooting at the Dallas ICE Facility
According to Fox News, police have identified the shooter at the ICE facility in Dallas as 29 year old Joshua Jahn. The three detainees who were shot were in an unmarked transport van when the shooting occurred. Police say Jahn took his own life around 7 a.m. on a nearby rooftop.
Two Deaths Are Reported at an ICE Facility in Dallas
According to Fox News, Dallas Police are confirming two fatalities and two injuries following a shooting at a government facility in Dallas on Wednesday morning. Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Todd Lyons, told ABC that a sniper took an "elevated position" and fired into a secured portion of the ICE facility.
No Federal Agents Were Wounded in the Shooting at the ICE Facility in Dallas
In an interview with Fox News, Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, said two detainees were shot and that no federal agents were wounded. She was unclear as to whether other law enforcement agents were wounded.
This Is Not the First Shooting in The Dallas Area
Speaking with CNN, Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Todd Lyons said, “ This just shows the violence that's being increased against ICE officers and agents. This is the second time now we've had a shooting at one of our facilities in the Dallas area. And really, it's just a sad time that we have to worry about violence against law enforcement." Two Texas facilities were targeted in July. In Alvarado, Texas, a police officer was shot at an ICE detention facility. A gunman opened fire at the entrance of the McAllen Border Patrol sector annex.

An Act of Targeted Violence
The head of the FBI field office in Dallas says the shooting will be investigated as an act of targeted violence. According to CNN, Special Agent in Charge Joe Rothrock said, “Early evidence that we’ve seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature.”
