The Solar Eclipse is almost here in the great state of Texas.

Preparations are in either still in motion, or fully completed. Many are excited for the moment, but there is still a lot that Texas itself has to brace itself for. We've already seen counties declare a state of emergency for the day in question.

Many Texans may not know what to exactly do before the big day however. As the path of the event goes over the Lone Star State, some could be worried for the impact it'll have on the area. One Texas official has revealed the one major item some should grab.

It's an item that many of need daily, and with the amount of people in coming to Texas, it might be the best idea to get what you need in advance.

What Is The One Major Item Texans Need To Get Before The Eclipse?

Newsweek spoke with Hays County's Director of the Office of Emergency Services, Mike Jones, and he described what Texans should prioritize to buy.

Jones Told Newsweek that Texans should visit "the stores and gas stations in advance to simply reduce traffic flow the day of the event and manage individuals' expectations that we will have a few more visitors in our county than normal."

He further stated 'I always encourage [people] to keep your fuel tanks filled [half] tank or better as a standard practice." Travis and Kendall County in Texas have also put out disaster declarations for the day in question.
