Exploring Texas Virtually: Minecraft Players Recreate Iconic Landmarks
Who would’ve thought that Texas is canon in the Minecraft universe? It turns out some very creative players have decided to make popular places from around Texas and included them into the game and in one case, someone even made an entire city in the game.
Someone created a map of El Paso, Texas in Minecraft.
A Reddit user named “AtmosphericBeats” made a complete 1:1 scale map of El Paso. In other words, they created a REAL LIFE SIZED map of El Paso into the world of Minecraft.
They included the Franklin mountains, various buildings around the city, even created what looks like the Rio Grande, which is right next to us.
This Reddit post was even featured on FitFam, where a majority of people wanted to actually go to this server so they can see it for themselves. Some people even said this person should be head of the I-10 Construction project.

El Paso is not the only Texas city that exist in the world of Minecraft. Some other popular Texas places include the home of the Texan Rangers, Globe Life Park in Arlington. And as a bonus, you can see Choctaw Stadium, the home of the Dallas Renegades.
Other spots include the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre House; very nice details of the...decor.
If you get hungry in Minecraft, why not stop at a Texas Roadhouse?
Or how about a Texas favorite, Whataburger? Some people even show tutorials on how you can create your OWN in Minecraft.
One Texas high school student even made a 1:1 scale of his school, McCollum High School in San Antonio during the height of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. People were so impressed, this even made local news.
Another school, UT Dallas, even embraced the idea of combing esports with Minecraft to make an official (trailer) for their school.
Of course we HAD to include one of the most famous landmarks in Texas, the Alamo. This person even gave a nice brief history lesson on the Alamo too.
This is all really impressive. It’s incredible to see each is how creative some players can be, and I know there are probably many more examples of this online.
Minecraft is not the only game that fans decided to make Texas be a part of its canon; some fans have even done that for Grand Theft Auto which you can read all about here.
