Is November Too Soon? Texans Debate Christmas Decorations!
Is there such a thing as starting Christmas too early? Depends on who you’re asking.
If you’re asking my teenage son, his answer will be absolutely not! My son actually asked me to take him to Home Depot a few weeks back so we could start our “window shopping” for Christmas decorations. (Halloween hadn’t even passed and he was already on the Christmas train!)
For my son, Christmas brings back so many positive memories. The best childhood memories he has are of me and him decorating our two bedroom apartment to feel like a Christmas wonderland.
Then when we finally got a house, he was even more excited to be able to put decorations outside for others to see, so putting up the holiday decor is nostalgic for him, and even though I would rather wait to put up holiday decorations until AFTER Thanksgiving, I may budge this year just to see that smile on my teenage son’s face.
It seems as if my son isn't alone when it comes to wanting to put up holiday decorations early. I asked El Pasoans when they put up their decorations and their answers varied:
