Judge Sets Bond at $1 Million for Copperas Cove, Texas Murder Suspect
One man is dead and another is in custody after being captured in Copperas Cove, Texas with what police say is the weapon used in the crime.
Timothy Robert Rea of Hamilton has been charged with the murder of Christian Carl Carrigan, also of Hamilton. KWTX is reporting that a witness identified Hamilton resident Timothy Robert Rea as the alleged suspect, and said Rea fled the scene before police arrived.
Police were dispatched on Saturday to the 100 block of South 1st Street in Copperas Cove after getting a call about a man with a severe injury. The officers provided medical assistance until Copperas Cove EMS arrived at the scene. Carrigan was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Hospital where he died from his wounds.

Rea allegedly refused to comply with police. After being subdued with a taser, he was taken into custody and charged with the murder of Carrigan. Rea was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Guinn, who set his bond at $1 million.

Violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Non-negligent manslaughter is any death caused by injuries received in a fight, argument, quarrel, assault or the commission of a crime.
Back in April, the community was shocked and heartbroken by the violent death of Destiney Carey, who investigators say was fatally shot by Kevin Frazier before he turned the gun on himself and attempted suicide. He survived and was charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant.
