Juvenile Suspect Allegedly Shot at Killeen Police Officer With Pellet Gun
A 16-year-old was arrested in Killeen Sunday after allegedly firing at an officer with what was described as a "high-powered pellet rifle".
The officer responded to a criminal mischief report in the 3700 block of Charolais Drive at 8:47 PM. Upon arriving, a resident said windows in their apartment had been shot out. While speaking with the victim, the officer heard a shot, then a projectile impact nearby.
The officer moved the victim inside for safety, then took cover and radioed for backup as another shot was fired in his direction.
According to a police report, officers arrived at the scene and discovered that the suspect had been firing from the open window of a nearby home.
The suspect was taken into custody and placed in the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center. The suspect's name was withheld due to their age.
No injuries were reported.
