Killeen Christmas Tree Recycling Event Saturday Jan. 5th

We hope your family had an amazing Christmas season and now the time has come to take the tree down but if you went out and got a REAL Christmas tree, don't just dump it, recycle it!

The City Of Killeen and Keep Killeen Beautiful will be accepting your Christmas trees for recycling on Saturday January 5th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Killeen Special Events Center at 3301 South W.S. Young Drive next to the Vive Le Arts Theater.

Trees are chipped and shredded on site and offered back to participants as mulch for use on their lawns or gardens. A reminder to make sure all ornaments, lights, tinsel and other decorations are removed prior to dropping off trees.

So don't wait until "Valentine's Day" to get rid of your tree, start taking it down now and be ready to recycle your tree! For more information, call the Volunteer Center at 254-501-7878.
