A Killeen man is behind bars after police say he shot his father during an argument.

Our news partners at KWTX-TV report that 21-year-old Mohammed Ali Qurashi, his father, 51-year-old Qutub Uddin Qurashi, and his mother were involved in a domestic dispute at their home in the 4900 block of Onion Road Sunday night.

Police responded to a report of a shooting there around 10:50 PM and found the elder Qurashi critically wounded from a gunshot. He was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where he passed away Tuesday afternoon.

Mohammed Ali Qurashi was arrested at the scene. He remained in the Bell County Jail Wednesday with bond set at $100,000. A single charged of second degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was listed on his roster entry.


 

In Temple, police are investigating two shooting that occurred over the weekend.

The first occurred shortly before 6:30 PM Saturday in the 1700 block of South First Street. First responders found a man injured by gunfire. He was transported to Scott & White with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, police responded to a call about a shooting victim in the 300 block of North 6th Street around 7 PM.

The 30-year-old victim, identified as Clayton Pratt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In both cases, the gunman had fled the scene before officers arrived.
