Killeen Man’s Cell Phone Saved Him From Bullet
A Killeen domestic dispute turned potentially deadly Friday when a woman shot at her husband. Fortunately for him, the bullet struck his phone, which may have saved his life.
Our news partners at KWTX report that police were called to a convenience store on Stagecoach Road shortly after 1 AM Tuesday. The victim told police his wife had fired a shot at him in the master bedroom of their home on Spring Drive. The man said he was holding his phone at the time, and that the bullet struck it, causing it to explode and injure his face. He escaped the home in a shirt, underwear, and socks and made his way to the convenience store to call for help.
When police arrived at the home, they reported hearing the sound of breaking glass and observed 38-year-old Pluslyn Saya Nartatez exiting the home and placing a travel back in a vehicle before reentering the home, at which time officers heard more items being broken.
Police say Nartatez was inside the home breaking things with a pole. Several windows and glass items in the home had been destroyed, and there were bullet holes in the walls.
Nartatez was eventually talked down and arrested. She was booked into the Bell County Jail on Thursday, January 24 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She remained in the jail Saturday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
So, what prompted the shooting?
Nartatez tells authorities she attacked her husband and trashed the home because she'd caught the man cheating.
Hell hath no fury, fellas. Hell hath no fury...
