Killeen, Texas is home to some fine restaurants, and many of the best are locally owned. Let's be honest, though: There are some places missing around here that a lot of people would like to enjoy without having to drive way out of town.

Don’t get me wrong - I love my amazing hometown, but I think I speak for all of my fellow Killeenites when I say we are in dire of need of more restaurants. Not only because we are a military town (one of the largest military towns, actually), but as I see my beautiful city growing, I don’t see the food selection really changing or expanding.

KILLEEN NEEDS MORE FOOD OPTIONS

There are over 100,000 people currently living in the city, and it becomes a little boring when you continuously go to the same spots over and over again. As a city grows, it really needs to expand its culinary options too.

I asked fellow members of my community their opinion, and it was no surprise to me how many people agreed that we need new menu options around here.

As per usual, I asked a simple question of the good people of Killeen. and I got plenty of responses.

Here are some of the most suggested restaurants that the people of Killeen would like to see in our community. If you disagree with these popular choices, by all means, download our free app and let us know what needs to be included. We want to know what everyone thinks!

Killeen is getting bigger so there’s plenty of room for new horizons.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
