Killeen Police Conducting Warrant Road-Up
The Killeen Municipal Court and Killeen Police Department are currently conducting a warrant round-up, so if you have an unpaid ticket or other class-C misdemeanor outstanding in the city, you'll need to reach out to the court now or face being arrested.
Municipal Court Director of Public Information Hilary Shine issued a warning Friday that city marshals and police officers will be out in force at all hours making arrests. Anyone who doesn't make arrangements to settle with the court will be taken into custody, jailed, and arraigned.
To avoid being arrested and work out a plan with the court, call them at (254) 501-7850 or visit them at 200 East Avenue D. The Killeen Municipal Court is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those with warrants may remit payments online at http://www.killeentexas.gov/municipal-court or by sending a cashier's check or money order to P.O. Box 1329, Killeen, TX 76540. Cash and Visa or Mastercard payments can only be made in person at the court, and no personal checks will be accepted in person or by mail.
Director Shine said Friday that the goal of the warrant round-up is to clear outstanding class-C misdemeanor warrants and to gain compliance in cases of traffic-related citations for which the violator failed to appear in court or comply with the judge’s orders. However, traffic violations are not the only class-C cases for which arrests will be made.
