Although the Texas unemployment rate is dropping, there are still plenty of jobs available, and the "Discover Your Future Career Fair" at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center is a great place to start on your new path.

Who's Hiring  in Killeen?

Make sure to bring plenty of resumes, as dozens of employers will be there. Many will be offering interviews on the spot.

Robert Hetzel, district supervisor for Texas Veterans Commission Employment Services, tells KWTX that veterans, or anybody transitioning out of the military, have a great opportunity with this job fair to show potential employers how their skills can translate in the workforce outside of the military, and a face-to-face meeting can be an advantage.

“If you apply online, you’re not interacting really with anybody. But if you come to a job fair you have an opportunity to meet somebody, to maybe meet that hiring manager, give a resume to that hiring manager,” says Hetzel.

Make Sure to Come Prepared

If you plan on attending but are not sure what to expect, here is some helpful advice. Treat it just like a job interview. Dress nice, bring a resume, and be prepared for a face-to-face interview. Be confident, and really sell yourself. You got this!

There are 30 companies at the job fair in a variety of fields. Find a full list of companies here, and good luck.
