I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 3/29/13

The President of the Irving school board is seeking to have trustee
Steven Jones censured. President Rona Huffstetler says Jones has been
trying to micromanage duties that are reserved for the
superintendent. Jones IS a problem – and a rarity. You see, he’s a
conservative. Not only that, if the administration and the liberal
members of the board want to take him down, they need to act quickly.
It’s thought that, after the next election, Jones might be part of a
conservative majority on the board – and we certainly can’t have
that. So what’d he do? He expressed an opinion to an assistant
superintendent that her position was wasteful and should be
eliminated. And he told the district’s “Director of World Languages”
that he preferred an English push rather than bilingual education.
For these crimes, Jones may be forced into sensitivity training. But
don’t worry. The TEA is being called in to investigate.
