I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 4/4/13

With the redefinition of “marriage” and the blending of the sexes – I
wonder how the popular music of my youth might be affected. In on of
his movies, Elvis sang: “I’m just a red blooded boy and I can’t stop
thinking about girls girls girls.” In similar repeat mode, the Everly
Brothers sang, “Girls girls girls are made to love.” On the ladies
side, Joannie Sommers sang: “I want a brave man. I want a cave man.”
In today’s more “inclusive” world, these lyrics are dated. With
“Modern Family” playing on TV –how long can it be before pop music
catches up. Maybe it already has – I stopped listening years ago –
but I don’t know if I’m ready for the new age. A man singing a love
song to another man seems disgusting. But wasn’t it just months ago
that President Obama was for traditional marriage? The President
“evolved.” TV’s been gay for a while. So get ready for a new kind of
love song.
