On the Obama scandal front: make it four. The latest scandal takes us
back to the days of the Nixon presidency – a time of enemies lists and
using the Internal Revenue Service to strike back at political
opponents. The IRS admits it knew – as early as 2011 that the agency
was profiling – looking for words like “Tea Party” and “Patriots” –
and subjecting such organizations to extra auditing. The
administration blames “low level” employees. Meanwhile, the “Fast and
Furious” gunrunning scandal still percolates beneath the surface –
even if the Solyndra cronyism scandal has cooled. Benghazi-gate makes
up for it. Even the media has noticed, with all the Sunday shows
finally leading with it. The administration blames “low level”
employees. When it comes to scandal, Obama is not yet to the level of
the Clinton years, but he’s getting there. He has one minor scandal,
one serious, and two that rank with Watergate.
