I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 5/8/13

The total absurdity of the comprehensive immigration bill is made
apparent by one of the key negotiating points:  border security.
Several Republican members of the Senate – including Marco Rubio whose
imprimatur the bill must have – are saying that border security must
be strengthened in the bill – or it will not pass.  How does this
aspect of the bill make any difference?  We’ve been told for years
that keeping impoverished Mexicans from crossing the border illegally
is impossible.  If we build a ten-foot fence, they’ll use an eleven-
foot ladder.  Or they’ll dig tunnels under the fence – or go around
it.  But now, we’re told that a bunch of security goals and
commissions that study the border is sufficient.  But then again, more
than a decade ago, we were told that we had 11-million illegals.
That’s what they still say today – and I don’t believe them.  Nothing
we’re being told about this bill is remotely believable.
