Maleah Davis’ Killer Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison
The man who killed 4-year-old Maleah Davis has been finally sentenced.
You may remember back in May of 2019 Maleah Davis was reported missing.
Her mother's boyfriend Darien Vance told police he, Maleah, and another child were en route to pick the girl's mother up at an airport when he stopped his vehicle for a flat tire, at which point he claimed two men attacked him, knocked him unconscious, then took Maleah and his vehicle.
On May 9, 2019, the vehicle was found in the parking lot of a strip mall in Missouri City, Texas. Vence was arrested 2 days later and charged with evidence tampering.
Maleah's body was found in a garbage bag on the side of a highway in Fulton, Arkansas on May 31st, 2019 by officers acting on information reportedly provided by Vence.
Today, Vance was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of that 4-year-old girl.
He pled guilty to tampering with a corpse and injury to a child. If he was convicted by a jury he would’ve faced up to life in prison according to KTBS TV
Reportedly Maleah died from homicidal violence where Vance restricted her airway with an unknown object and hit her with a blunt object.
He later confessed that her death was an accident.
