The Copperas Cove Police Department and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public's help identifying and locating three suspects in an armed robbery that resulted in a man being shot Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim at the Family Food Mart at 2011 Urbantke Lane at 10:40 PM. When they arrived, they found a store employee with gunshot wound.

The victim told officers that three men entered the store wearing masks and long-sleeved shirts. One of them brandished what the employee described as semi-automatic pistol and demanded money. As the employee walked toward a door, he was shot. The suspects then fled on foot.

The victim was treated by EMS at the scene before being transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple in stable condition.

Detectives with the Copperas Cove Police Department are investigating, and they're asking anyone who may have information about the robbery or the suspects to contact them at (254) 547-8222. Let them know you have information about case (2020-1533).

You can also submit information to Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers at (254) 547-1111 or tipsubmit.com. You do not have to tell Crime Stoppers your name, and a tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime could net a cash reward of up to $1,000.

I'd like to take a moment to share that there will be free COVID-19 testing at Copperas Cove Fire Station #2 Thursday, May 14. Testing will be by appointment only, so you'll need to undergo a screening first. You can be screened and registered at txcovidtest.org or by calling (512) 883-2400.
