Midland-Odessa Shooter Has Ties to Central Texas
According to online records, the man identified by police in the Midland-Odessa shooting once lived in McLennan County. KVUE is reporting that 36-year-old Seth Ator once lived in Lorena and Waco.
Reportedly, Ator graduated from Lorena High School in the early 2000s and was enrolled at Texas State Technical College in Waco in 2005. There is also an evading arrest charge against Ator in McLennan County in 2001.
The Lorena Police Department commented on the development on Facebook.
The shooting began Saturday afternoon with a traffic stop on Interstate 20 that led to a mail carrier truck being hijacked and a rampage through Odessa and Midland. Officials say they are processing more than 15 crime scenes as part of their investigation.
