This might be a good case to show that people should have some training before becoming parents.

KWTX is reporting that Sgt. Devin James Gill, 23, and his wife Jamie Nicole Gill, 24, were in the Bell County Jail charged with injury to a child.

A police officer was dispatched to their home for a welfare check and found an "emaciated and malnourished " infant.

Bond was set at $100,000.

The arrests was from an investigation that started February 12 after a report of child neglect.

A look around the couples home found no formula, breast pumps, bags for breast milk or baby food.

CPS had the child admitted to a local hospital. The child weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces. Which was same weight as when he was born 4 months earlier.

His mother claims she fed him, but pictures showed the child with his skin hanging loosely off his body, according to the affidavit which also states that his father said he wasn't worried about his son's weight because he thought the infant was "just skinny".

CPS placed the child in foster care. He has gained 4 pounds in a month.
