It that's true, then one of the biggest movie references of all time may be getting a face lift

The image Ricardo Montalban and his Corinthian-leathered face was what we always pictured when we thought of the ultimate villain, tormented by revenge. Star Trek II, the Wrath of Khan gave moviegoers one of the best anger screams of all time.

Who doesn't have this firmly transfixed in their brain:

Haven't we all, at a high point of frustration and anger, looked up into the sky and yelled "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANN!!!!!!!!. Come on, admit it, you know you have.

But is summer, will we have a new "KHAAAAAAAAAAANN!" chant?

They never mention it the trailer, but it looks like the second installment in the franchise reboot  might be dealing with another Khan. Rumors are flying wildly over the internet today, and with the release of this new trailer,  still very little is known about who the menacing villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch actually is.

After watching the trailer, it sure looks to me like Cumberbatch, known for his starring role on the hit BBC series "Sherlock," is playing a "Khan" type.

Not sure how he measures up to Montalban, who originated the role in the classic Star Trek series. The "Fantasy Island" star, who died in 2009 at the age of 88, will be always be hard to replace in my mind.

So what do you think? Is he channeling Montalban as Khan or going for his own thing? Or do you think the rumors are way off base and this is just another run-of-the-mill Star Trek villain?

All our questions will be answered on May 17, when Star Trek 2: Into Darkness blasts into theaters.
