North Temple Home Destroyed by Fire

A Temple home was destroyed by flames early Sunday morning.

Temple Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to 715 North 5th Street at 2:10 AM, May 5, 2019. Upon arrival, they spotted heavy flames coming from the corner of a one-story brick structure and were told someone may be inside. Firefighters entered through the back of the home and encountered heavy smoke as they conducted two sweeps for people who might be inside. No one was found.

The fire was under control by 3:13 AM. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, five people were displaced. The American Red Cross is helping them out.

The home was a total loss.
