Fowl news, chicken lovers: the Killeen Chick-Fil-A will be closed for the next three months.

The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting that the Chick-Fil-A on 1400 East Central Texas Expressway will shut down for 13 weeks.

According to employees, the store will be closing for renovations after 3pm today.

I think singer Tim Hawkins best expresses how we feel about one less Chick-Fil-A being available, even if it's only for a short time.

You can look forward to a new improved Killeen Chick-Fil-A location soon, but in the meantime, your waffle fries will be a little farther away if you live or work in the Killeen area.

The good news?

There are three other Chick-Fil-A stores that are just a short drive from the one on 1400 East Central Texas Expressway.

Central Texas Chick-Fil-A Locations

Those who work at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Killeen will temporarily be moved to other locations in Copperas Cove or Harker Heights, according to the Killeen Daily Herald.

There is also a Chick-Fil-A in Temple, but it's not clear if any of the Killeen workers would be used at the store on 3303 South 31st Street.

Chick-Fil-A Art Contest for Kids

Need something to keep your kiddos busy while you drive to other locations? Tell them to make some artwork for the Chick-Fil-A Kids meal contest.

To inspire creativity in young artists, Chick-fil-A will be celebraing kid-created art designs and choosing a select few to be featured in Chick-fil-A® Kid’s Meal prizes next year, per their website.
