WHAT IS THE ONE-CHIP CHALLENGE?

The one chip challenge has been making its way across social media, and now it's landed in our Texas high schools. If you have a kid who uses TikTok, you should be aware of the challenge and what it could mean for your kid's health and safety.

The popular Paqui One Chip contains the Carolina reaper and scorpion pepper, which are some of the hottest peppers in the world. Now I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, "It’s just one chip, so how much harm could it really cause you?"

This chip has been putting young people in hospitals and giving them abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and even difficulty breathing that could last more than 24 hours and lead to severe complications.

I don’t want my child participating in this challenge at all. Would you?
