Pickup Truck Split in Half After Hitting Guardrail in Bryan
It's the sort of thing you see and think to yourself, "How did someone survive that?"
Police in Bryan say 51-year-old Ginger Pivonka was headed east on Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Bryan Tuesday, April 2 when she crashed into the guardrail of a bridge, causing her pickup truck to split in half.
Check out the picture above and tell me it doesn't look as if a giant picked that truck up and broke it over his knee. Yikes!
Police say Pivonka was taken to a local hospital to be checked out, as emergency responders feared she may have internal injuries. Judging by the look of the crash scene, I can understand why they were concerned.
Fortunately, any injuries Pivonka suffered weren't severe enough to warrant her being admitted, and she was released.
Unfortunately, she was arrested a short time later.
Brazos County Jail records indicate she was booked Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance, less than 28 grams. Her bonds totaled $6,000, and records indicate she was released Wednesday, April 3.
