PICS: Killeen’s New Food Truck Park Soft Opening Saw Big Turnout
I love to see when a community comes together and seeing how much we've grown, especially here in my hometown of Killeen.
I remember a time when Killeen only had a single H-E-B on Fort Hood Street, that one lonely Walmart, and even a Winn-Dixie. Remember Winn-Dixie?!
Now Killeen is growing and becoming a beautiful city, and part of that growth has, thankfully, been Central Texans coming together to support local and veteran owned small businesses. The success of these establishments comes when locals support them as if they were big businesses.
This past weekend, I got to see that in action when I went to the soft opening of Killeen's International Cuisine Korner (aka K.I.C.K.) at 4103 E. Stan Schlueter Loop.
I am almost certain this place will become the "it" spot in Killeen. There was great international food, stylish and unique clothes and accessories from local vendors, and most importantly great energy and vibes.
The soft opening was a launch to gauge how interested Central Texans are, and judging by how many showed up, interest is definitely there.
The Killeen Daily Herald reports that K.I.C.K. will be open:
Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sundays Noon to 6 p.m.
I wish you guys could've smelled what I smelled. Being out there, the aroma of all these food trucks practically had me floating in the air like a cartoon character smelling a fresh apple pie!
It was absolutely amazing, and with fine food, great music, and good vibes, how could Central Texans possibly be disappointed? They just couldn’t!
