If you want to go have a delicious meal and enjoy some great wine, I got to tell you Pignetti's in Temple, Texas is where it's at!

I have been going to Pignett's in Temple for the past 5 years for numerous purposes: staff outings, family dinners, lunch (I honestly go there at least twice a week), and most of all for date night.

Pignetti's Defines Fine Dining in Temple

According to their website, Pignetti’s Italian Restaurant has been enticing Temple residents for going on 20 years.

They are known for their great food and wine.

They boast traditional Italian with American, Hispanic, and Spanish flavors.

Their menu ranges from "classic to the contemporary".

They have Antipasta, Insalata, Pietta Al Digiorno, pasta, Pizza, and (delicous) desserts and serve Brunch, Lunch and Dinner.

Basically, they've become a fixture here in Temple, and one of those places that instantly comes to mind when you think "fine dining" around here.

The Wine At Pignetti's Is An Experience Too

While personally I am not a big wine connoisseur, those that have enjoyed their experiences at Pignetti's can attest that their wine selection is like no other in Central Texas.

According to their website, they hold monthly wine dinners featuring a local or national vineyard, and on Wednesday nights they offer wine tasting with appetizers.

They have a house label, but also a wide variety that any wine lover in Central Texas will truly appreciate. The place is wall-to-wall wine, so chances are if there's a bottle that most appeals to you, they've got it.

Date Night at Pignetti's Is Thursday - Don't Forget!

Although I have most often been on a Saturday night, their website also says that Thursdays are date nights!

On this night is when Pignetti's offers bottled wines for sale that you can take home and enjoy. The atmosphere at Pignetti's is always classy and romantic, but it's particularly fine on those Thursday nights. Just a hint, guys. (Yes, they take reservations. HINT HINT.)

You'll Find Pignetti's in Downtown Temple

Pignettis is located at 14 S. Second St. This time of year when the weather is getting warmer but it isn't blazing hot yet, their outdoor seating is a great choice. You can enjoy the fine food and wine, plus do some people watching or just enjoy being outside.

Pignetti's Has Become A Part Of Temple, Texas' Identity

Pignetti’s has become a Downtown Temple landmark. It's such an essential part of experiencing life in Temple. People go there for everything from casual business lunches to anniversary gatherings and proposals.

People who've lived her their entire lives can probably remember when Downtown Temple was looking really neglected. There were so many beautiful old buildings just going to waste.

Pignetti's was one of the first places to open up and really help get the revitalization effort started. Now Downtown's growing by leaps and bounds, and this awesome restaurant is still going strong. In fact, they're preparing to open another location up in Waco.

Service to the Community

During the pandemic, Pignett's helped locals get groceries and essentials that were rapidly disappearing from shelves. Not only was it a creative way to weather the storm when the COVID-19 shutdowns were going on, but it really helped people who were caught off guard by all the panic buying and bare shelves.

That's one of the benefits of having thriving local businesses. They're not just faceless corporate entities. They're owned by people who live in the community and can do the neighborly thing.

Just the other day I was driving past Clem Mikeska's in Temple for lunch and a memory popped in my head about Wes's Burger Shack More, and the former business that used to have delicious pizza.

I remember going there for lunch just a few years ago and taking my entire hour to take advantage of that pizza buffet! The different variety of pizza stuck out to me. I even remember the game area!

A few weeks ago, we asked listeners on Facebook about restaurants they missed that aren't around anymore in Temple, Texas.

Boy did we receive a great response!

So now it's time to reminisce about old breakfast spots, taco joints, Chinese and Mexican restaurants, and lunchtime favorites we used to frequent in Temple.

Wow! What I Saw When I Turned Left Inside Buc-ee's In Temple, Texas [PICS]

As the saying goes... everything's bigger in Texas.

Having said that, I've never seen a gas station with more than 50 gas pumps.

Then I visited Buc-ee's.

What is Buc-ee's?

If you don't know or have never visited the popular one-stop highway shop that has over 35 Texas locations in Texas, you need to!

You can get everything in Buc-ee's from gas, to keychains to candles to brisket to goat milk soap and everything in between.

Buc-ee's Has Expanded

According to their site, Buc-ee's, not only has multiple locations here in Texas, they have expanded to southern states like Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

The World's Largest Buc-ee's Coming Soon

Later this year, Buc-ee's has plans to open "The World's Largest Buc-ee's" located in Sevierville, Tennesse. It will have 120 fuel pumps, a 250-foot car wash, and 74,000 square feet of indoor shopping.
Yikes!

I've Never Turned Left

In almost 7 years, I've been here in Texas, I've never turned left when I went inside a Buc-ee's.

I either walk straight to the bathroom or turn right to get water or gummy bears or chocolate almonds. (I get the same thing every time)

But yesterday, I decided to turn left and (I know I'm late) I was mesmerized!

For starters, I never had a reason to turn left.

I've visited the one in Waller County, Bastrop, and the Temple location.

Every time I've visited Buc-ee's, I've never had a reason to go "shopping" always a bathroom break and then back on the road.

So here are some of the cool things I saw when I turned left at Buc-ee's in Temple, Texas!
