Police Led On High Speed Chase In Bell County
A police pursuit that started in Temple ended in Nolanville Thursday afternoon.
Temple police were initially dispatched to the Barrington Arms apartment complex at 401 SW HK Dodgen Loop in response to a narcotics complaint. When they arrived at the scene, officers attempted to stop the suspect's SUV but it sped away. At one point, the vehicle was traveling at approximately 80 miles per hour into opposing traffic on South 5th Street.
For safety reasons, Temple police ended their pursuit and advised area agencies to be on the lookout for the SUV.
The vehicle was later spotted by a DPS trooper in Belton, but it once again sped away.
It was next spotted on FM 439 traveling at around 105 miles per hour. Police pursued the vehicle into Nolanville where officers used a spoke strip to flatten two of the SUV's tires. The vehicle continued to speed away, but gradually slowed until it was stopped at a CEFCO store off Central Texas Expressway in Nolanville.
Two people were taken into custody. Their identities have not yet been released.
