Rapper ‘Mystikal’ and Harker Heights Man Arrested in Rape Case
A Harker Heights man is behind bars after being linked to the sexual assault of a woman at a Shreveport, Louisiana casino last year. He was reportedly an accomplice of rapper 'Mystikal', who turned himself in to Shreveport police Monday.
26-year-old Averwenone Holman of Harker Heights was booked into the Bell County Jail on Friday, August 18 after being apprehended by federal marshals. He faces an unlisted third degree felony charge. Jail records did not indicate a bond total as of Monday afternoon.
Holman is accused of joining rapper Michael 'Mystikal' Tyler in sexually assaulting a woman in a casino in October of 2016. SPIN Magazine reports that the alleged assault occurred during a stop along the Legends of Southern Hip-Hop tour, in which Tyler was performing.
KXXV reports that Tyler turned himself in to authorities in Shreveport Monday.
Caddo Parish Correctional Center records indicated that Tyler was charged with first degree rape and his bond set at $2 million.
According to KXXV, police are still searching for 40-year-old Tenichia Wafford of Killeen, who is believed to have tried to pressure the alleged victim into dropping charges against the two men.
