If you're a fan of wild game or have ever wondered what it tastes like, make plans to attend the Wild Game Dinner at Tenroc Ranch in Salado February 24.

The dinner is a free event with silent and live auctions to benefit the Salado United Methodist Church's mission and outreach programs. Donations will also be accepted.

So, what's on the menu? How's this sound?

  • Venison
  • Bison
  • Aoudad (wild goat)
  • Wild Hog
  • Elk
  • Quail
  • Dove
  • Pheasant
  • Fish
  • Armadillo
  • Squirrel
  • Rattlesnake

Growing up in Texas, chances are you've tried a few, if not all, of these. Personally, I've never tried armadillo, squirrel, rattlesnake, or aoudad, so I'm eager to sample them at this event. I love bison meat (bison burgers are the best, hands down), and wild hog is always good eatin'.

Again, the event is free, but donations are welcome. There'll also be plenty of fantastic items up for bids in the live and silent auctions.
