Reward Increased to $7,000 for Texas’ Most Wanted Sex Offender
Police are on the hunt for a man convicted of attempting to have sexual contact with an 11-year-old boy, and they need the public's help locating him.
37-year-old Jorge Luis Santamaria is among the Top 10 Wanted Sex Offenders in Texas, and this month the Department of Public Safety is offering a $7,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Santamaria is considered a high-risk offender,a nd is wanted for probation violation and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
This suspect has been wanted since October of 2012, when he absconded from his last known address in Electra, Texas. Police say he has ties to Elgin, Austin, and Mexico.
In 2005, Santamaria was convicted of attempt to commit indecency with a child - sexual contact after an incident in Travis County involving an 11-year-old boy. He was sentenced to 10 years probation.
Santamaria stands 5'6" and weighs around 230 pounds.
