It's pretty cool that two high school ball clubs from Central Texas made it all the way to the State Semi-finals this year. The Salado Eagles and Robinson Rockets knew the winner of their game would advance to the Finals to face the Abilene-Wylie Bulldogs at Disch-Falk Field in Austin today. In the end, it was Salado who triumphed in a 7-1 victory.

It was Eagle's pitcher Cody Wolf (13-1) who kept Robinson at bay, hurling a complete game with six strikeouts while only giving up one run. The Eagles came out swinging and piled on seven runs during the contest, which was more than enough to reach the 4A Championship game to be held this afternoon.

This is Salado Eagles coach Chad Krempin's third trip to the state tournament, and his first championship game.

Today's 4A Final will match Abilene-Wylie (30-3-1) against Salado (29-11) beginning at 6:30 pm this evening in the capital city. The Eagles will look to take home their first state title since 2008 when they won the 2A championship. Good luck boys!
