Congrats to the City of Temple, as both The Santa Fe Plaza and Santa Fe Market Trail
were named "Best Public Improvement" by the Texas Downtown Association.

According to the City of Temple's website, The Santa Fe Plaza is a $40 million redevelopment project in downtown Temple, located by the Santa Fe Depot. It includes the Santa Fe Business Center and Temple Independent School District’s administrative building. The development brought 300 jobs to Downtown Temple.

It also includes a green space area perfect for family fun, a new food truck court as well as the Railroad & Heritage Museum, Temple Visitors Center and a Amtrak station.

Brynn Myers, Temple City Manager, tells Sydney Isenberg of KXXV Channel 25,

“The Santa Fe project was a huge milestone in the development and revitalization of the landscape of Downtown Temple. It has brought jobs, increased foot traffic and really been a beautiful addition to our city that our residents and visitors just love.”

But the congrats don't stop there as Temple was also recognized as finalists in five other categories, including,

  • Best New Construction: Temple Business Center Building
  • Best Downtown Business: The Hub
  • Best Downtown Business: H5B3, LLC
  • Best Downtown Partner: Academie Musique of Central Texas
  • Best Digital Promotion: Virtual First Friday

Temple City Manager Myers also said,

“We are so proud of our downtown landscape. From the businesses to the projects and events, Temple has a great deal to be proud of and having five finalists showcased with some of the best projects from around the state shows that. Congratulations to each of them.”

That's great recognition for the City of Temple and with the weather finally cooling off, this is the perfect time of year to spend some time in downtown Temple.
