Here's a sweet way for all of us to honor our Texas veterans and show them some love on Valentine's Day.

The Veteran’s Land Board has announced a 'Valentines for Veterans' campaign, inviting Texans to send Valentine greetings to any of the nine State Veterans Homes in Texas.

One of those nine homes happens to be right here in Central Texas!

The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located at 1424 Martin Luther King Jr. Lane in Temple.

Veterans Homes in Texas Are a Valuable Resource

These homes provide affordable long-term care for Texas veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star parents.

The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple was the first state veterans home built after enabling legislation was passed, opening in 2000.

The home is named after World War II veteran and U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division 1st Lt. William R. Courtney, who served from 1942 to 1946.
