Shooting in Killeen Leaves Teenager With Gunshot Wound to Head
A 15-year-old has been hospitalized and suspects are in custody after a shooting in Killeen late Sunday night.
Killeen Police Department Spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez reports that officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Longview Drive at 11:45 PM after receiving a 911 call about a shooting victim.
When officers arrived, they found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to the head. The child was first transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, then transferred to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple where he was reportedly in critical but stable condition.
The victim's identity has not been made public.
Miramontez said officers spoke to witnesses at the scene who were able to identify several suspects.
"Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division located the suspects and they were taken into custody," she said. "Charges and suspect identification are pending a review of the case by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office."
