Detectives with the Killeen Police Department are searching for a man believed to be involved in a fight that escalated into gunfire earlier this year, and they're hoping someone out here in the public can help.

The incident happened back on May 28, 2021 in the parking lot of a hotel in the 2600 block of East Elms Road.

Around 11:07 PM that night, police responded to reports of a disturbance. Witnesses said the disturbance involved two groups of people, and that it ended when a man pulled a handgun and shot someone.

The man then fled the scene in a vehicle with three other people. Police have reason to believe the car was a dark colored Nissan.

Police released the surveillance stills above (tap here to view them if they don't appear properly above) in hopes that someone out there will recognize the people involved or remember something about that night that could be helpful.

If you think you can help out, detectives ask that you contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254)526-TIPS (8477), bellcountycrimestoppers.com, or the free P3Tips app.

You do not have to give Crime Stoppers your name, and if your information leads to an arrest you could net a cash reward of up to $1,000.

There's no excuse for people acting this way and endangering other people in our community, so I hope someone out there has some information that could help bring the gunman to justice.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

Back on April 30, 2021, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now we know what will go in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
