Killeen Police Arrest Suspect in Saturday Afternoon Shooting
Killeen police have made an arrest after a weekend shooting that sent a woman to a local hospital.
24-year-old Tommy Lee Ovalle was in custody at the Bell County Jail Monday on a charge of discharge of a firearm in a municipality. His bond was set at $5,000.
Records indicate he was not on the jail's inmate roster Tuesday morning.
Ovalle was arrested after Killeen police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Marlin Drive Saturday afternoon.
Ke'Sha Lopez and Brandon Hamilton with our news partner, KWTX, report that Ovalle fired a shot at the victim's home and the bullet ricocheted. The victim was struck by something, but police did not say if it was a bullet or debris.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital. Police say her injuries were not life-threatening.
