Skeleton Found in Hewitt Identified
Investigators have identified one set of skeletal remains found in Hewitt last summer as Erasmo Guillen-Ruiz, 43, of Dallas.
Guillen-Ruiz’s remains were found next to another skeleton in a creek bed on September 6, 2013 in the 100 block of Bridle Trail. The case was ruled a homicide and the remains were sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for examination.
A DNA extraction was performed at the University of North Texas, and a sample checked against the Combined DNA Index System matched Guillen-Ruiz.
The second set of remains has not been identified.
Hewitt police are asking that anyone who knew Guillen-Ruiz or has any information about the case to call (254) 666-6272.
